Texas State University is looking to hire an Instructional Technologist to help bridge the gap between the classroom technology and the faculty on our campus! This person will be replacing our inaugural instructional technologist who moved to bigger and better things, but left a really solid foundation to build upon! The Learning Spaces department is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for education, instruction, and technology, bringing them together to assist faculty. As a Technology Integration Specialist - Instructional Technologist, the candidate will be expected to bridge the communication gap between technology and instruction. The ideal candidate should possess instructional teaching, design, or technology experience along with moderate A/V experience, should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and should enjoy the thrill of helping others succeed. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, working as part of a team, and bringing about positive change to a vast array of users, this is the job for you!
The candidate should have a working knowledge of audio, visual, computing, and software technologies and how they work together in a classroom/presentation environment. They should also be well versed in instructional methods and pedagogies, preferably in a higher education environment. They should be able to produce detailed documentation on how to use audio/visual systems and be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. The candidate should be capable of maintaining a professional appearance, setting priorities, and moving several tasks forward simultaneously with only moderate direction. Knowledge of Extron products and control systems is preferred, as is a CTS or teaching certification.
