An Educational Technology Collaborative Regional Event at Pace University!

With all the changes in technology coupled with post pandemic fatigue, faculty and students are feeling overwhelmed. Standardizing the classroom technology can mitigate some of the  frustrations felt by faculty and students.

In order to alleviate some of the stress felt by faculty and students, classroom standardization can help in the following ways:

  1. Consistency: Standardizing technology makes it easier for faculty members to plan and prepare lessons. They know exactly what tech is available in each space, which reduces the time and effort needed to adapt to different technology setups.
  2. Professional Development: Standardizing technology makes it easier for faculty members to receive training and professional development. If all faculty members are using the same technology, it's easier for administrators to provide training and support.
  3. Collaboration: Standardizing technology allows faculty members to collaborate more easily. They can share resources, collaborate on lesson plans, and provide feedback to each other more easily if everyone is using the same tools.
  4. Accessibility: Standardizing technology ensures that all faculty members have access to the same resources and tools. This is particularly important for adjunct and part-time faculty members who may not have their own equipment or access to specialized hardware/software.
  5. Efficiency: Standardizing technology can increase efficiency by reducing the time and effort needed to troubleshoot technical issues. If everyone is using the same technology, it's easier to identify and resolve problems.
