Membership Information

 
When signing up for a new Institutional or Corporate membership, you will be required to add at least one individual/sub-account to your membership. These sub-accounts will receive full individual benefits (LISTSERV subscription, access to the members-only section of the website, etc). 

On February 18, the Board of Directors approved the new FY 26-27 dues rates listed below, which went into effect April 1, 2026.

NOTE: All membership types run on a fiscal year, July 1-June 30. We do not prorate rates. If you join after January 1st, you will receive the remainder of the current fiscal year (expiration June 30th) complimentary, and your expiration date will be June 30th of the following year.

Institutional Membership

Individuals within an institution of higher education who are associated with the support of instruction and presentation technologies in a media center and/or technology support service. Institutional members shall be entitled to all the privileges of membership, including those of making motions, voting, and holding office.

To further enhance member value, the number of linked accounts available within each membership level has been increased. This update is designed to expand participation across roles and strengthen engagement, networking, and knowledge sharing across institutions.

1-5 Sub-Accounts $400
Department Membership  - up to 10 Sub-Accounts $800
Unlimited Membership - as many Sub-Accounts as needed $1,200

Corporate Membership

Individuals within a corporation, firm, foundation, or other commercial or philanthropic enterprise whose business or activity is in support of the purposes and objectives of ETC. Corporate members shall be entitled to the privileges of membership, including those of making motions, voting, and holding office.

Associate Membership (previously Student/Retiree/other):

Any individual or organization interested in education AV who is not otherwise eligible for Institutional or Corporate Membership may apply for Associate Membership. Two options are available: Individual Associate Membership and Organizational Associate Membership.

Eligibility for Associate Membership: Institutions of higher education are defined as post-secondary degree- or certificate-granting organizations.

Associate Membership is available to individuals or organizations with an interest in educational technology who are not employed by, or are not otherwise, institutions of higher education. This includes, but is not limited to: museums; architects; public libraries; public or private K–12 schools; religious, governmental, non-profit, or other organizations; and consultants serving these groups.

Organizational Associate Membership
To enhance the value of organizational participation, the number of linked accounts available within each Organizational Associate Membership level has been increased. This allows for broader participation across teams and roles, while strengthening engagement, networking, and knowledge sharing across organizations.

Additional Eligibility
Retirees are eligible for Associate Membership but may also consider applying for Life Membership.
Students are eligible for Associate Membership.
