Job Description

The Technology Coordinator leads the strategic planning and day-to-day operation of computer labs and classroom technology in the Department of Mass Communication (MCOM) in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC). The MCOM Lab Manager works with faculty, staff, and students on a broad range of instructional, research, and administrative support that involve computer hardware, software, and related equipment and technology: Maintain safety and security protocols of the labs and classrooms according to the university’s guidelines; respond to first-level support calls and troubleshoot problems as they occur in classroom, lab, and administrative spaces; coordinate with campus technical support staff to manage or solve larger issues; plan future needs and upgrades of technology in the department; serve on the COFAC Technology Committee; maintain up-to-date inventory of all hardware, software and equipment; train and supervise student employees in computer imaging and deployment, software installation, security policies, basic network connectivity, and proper recycling of outdated lab computers; schedule and staff open labs; and manage departmental resources for purchase, maintenance, and setup of equipment and supplies. Experience Required
