Job Description

The AV/IT Network Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for integrating technical capabilities and solutions across a broad spectrum of AV/IT technology disciplines in order to address the needs of NC State faculty and staff through the services of DELTA’s Enterprise Digital Media Support. This position is part of a dedicated support team tasked with on-site administration, support, and maintenance of DELTA’s AV/IT infrastructure networked across nine campus buildings. The primary focus is on customer service, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that are essential to assisting faculty, staff, and students with technical issues in a friendly, approachable, and effective manner.

Experience Required

Master’s Degree and one to two (1-2) years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two to four (2-4) years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description

The AV Specialist works within the School of Public Policy to provide professional, quality and innovative audio-visual systems and clientele support. This individual will work directly with the SPP IT support staff and clientele to support and maintain SPP classroom technology, other meeting room A/V technologies, as well as digital signage display systems. The specialist would facilitate AV operations in formal and informal learning spaces. The AV Specialist reports to the SPP Director of Information technology. The specialist is responsible for assisting faculty and student users, as well as local department staff with instructional technology infrastructure. This position provides technical support that ensures the proper operation, maintenance, monitoring, testing and repair of networked AV equipment, SPP classroom computers, and AV control systems. S/he will also review requirements and help to design SPP classroom AV systems, build/install new SPP classroom AV systems, perform tests and pilot installations of viable technologies.
