The AV/IT Network Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for integrating technical capabilities and solutions across a broad spectrum of AV/IT technology disciplines in order to address the needs of NC State faculty and staff through the services of DELTA’s Enterprise Digital Media Support. This position is part of a dedicated support team tasked with on-site administration, support, and maintenance of DELTA’s AV/IT infrastructure networked across nine campus buildings. The primary focus is on customer service, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that are essential to assisting faculty, staff, and students with technical issues in a friendly, approachable, and effective manner.

Experience Required

Master’s Degree and one to two (1-2) years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two to four (2-4) years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position’s role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description

The AV Specialist works within the School of Public Policy to provide professional, quality and innovative audio-visual systems and clientele support. This individual will work directly with the SPP IT support staff and clientele to support and maintain SPP classroom technology, other meeting room A/V technologies, as well as digital signage display systems. The specialist would facilitate AV operations in formal and informal learning spaces. The AV Specialist reports to the SPP Director of Information technology. The specialist is responsible for assisting faculty and student users, as well as local department staff with instructional technology infrastructure. This position provides technical support that ensures the proper operation, maintenance, monitoring, testing and repair of networked AV equipment, SPP classroom computers, and AV control systems. The specialist will also be required to load programs onto Crestron control processors, touch panels, routers, audio DSPs (Crestron and others) and Crestron peripherals to support instructional technology SPP classrooms. S/he will also review requirements and help to design SPP classroom AV systems, build/install new SPP classroom AV systems, perform tests and pilot installations of viable technologies. S/he will produce needed documentation.

This individual will work directly with the campus community to support classroom technology and facilitate AV operations in formal and informal learning spaces. The AV Specialist reports to the Assistant Manager of AV Systems and Classroom Support, who is responsible for leading the team of AV techs in daily operations and maintenance of approximately 335 instructional technology classrooms. The specialist is responsible for assisting faculty users and local department staff with instructional technology infrastructure. This position provides technical support that ensures the proper operation, maintenance, monitoring, testing and repair of networked AV equipment, classroom computers, and AV control systems. The specialist will also be required to load programs onto Crestron control processors, touch panels, routers, audio DSPs (Crestron and others) and Crestron peripherals to support instructional technology classrooms. S/he will also review requirements and help to design classroom AV systems, build/install new classroom AV systems, perform tests and pilot installations of viable technologies. S/he will produce needed documentation. This position requires the possession of a valid driver’s license.

Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of education, training, and experience relevant to the position (AV, electronics, engineering, electrical systems, etc.). 

Job Description

Operates on site to install, troubleshoot and repair audiovisual equipment for the Digital Learning Technologies (DLT) Department. May assist with system design & programming as needed. Ensures equipment operates at optimal levels as defined by departmental standards. Documents and reports all installation activities, inspections and services as required.

Experience Required

Two years of vocational and electronic training with an emphasis on basic electronic systems and equipment, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required. Must have demonstrated human relations skills and be able to work independently. 

Job Description

The Media Technology Specialist is responsible for supporting a wide range of cutting-edge audiovisual technologies across campus to facilitate the teaching, learning, and administrative needs of the community. This includes supporting over 250 audiovisual-enabled classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, and other convening spaces spread across 35 campus buildings. The Media Technology Specialist is aligned with the AV Operations team within Media Services, whose focus is on providing audiovisual solutions and support that meet campus needs in hybrid and non-hybrid environments.

Experience Required

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. At least three years’ relevant work experience is required.

Job Description

This position reports to the Academic Technology Manager and works closely on the learning spaces upgrade/refresh plan and budget. It supports the operational continuity of The New School’s AV in learning and meeting spaces, and also assists with the event/performance areas. This position ensures other members of the Academic Technology team are able to modify user interfaces by providing hands-on guidance and documentation for the technical operations teams. The position also serves as the AV technical lead/project manager working with The New School Buildings/Facilities team and with contractors/subcontractors on capital and renovation projects. Working closely with campus partners, the AV Architect and Technician ensures the high availability of the classroom technology systems, plays a key role in our regular upgrade and maintenance schedules, and ensures high quality user support for classroom technology systems. The position will also be called on to provide AV Services support in rooms across the University.
